Dr. John C. Faherty attended the University of Wisconsin Medical School, before choosing to leave the program to pursue other learning. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Logan College of Chiropractic in 1985, he opened his chiropractic clinic in Asheville, North Carolina. He is a highly respected chiropractor in private practice in Asheville, who receives frequent referrals from local medical doctors. He received his AVCA certification in October 1998 and continues his education of animal chiropractic in advanced courses with AVCA. He is a member of the AVCA curriculum committee for license renewal and continuing education. He has also been adjunct professor of kinesiology at UNC Asheville. A large portion of Dr. Faherty's animal chiropractic experience is with agility and performance animals, mostly dogs and horses. He has worked with world class jumpers and dressage horses, as well as canine champions. He enjoys the stimulation of the mechanics of quadriped motion and the tremendous results that are apparent in these performance animals. On the home front, Dr. Faherty enjoys his work with beloved family pets; he has found that chiropractic care greatly enhances the health and quality of life of non-atn hlete quadripeds. Being involved with the AVCA requires ongoing education and commitment to animal chiropractic. This organization is a teaching team of licensed veterinarians and chiropractors who together, are committed to this non-invasive, preventative treatment approach. Dr. Faherty works closely with veterinarians in Asheville, NC, who have provided essential expertise on canine and equine anatomy, physiology, and treatments.
